After spending days adding manual links to my affiliate niche store I knew there must be a better way. Using a datafeed seemed too complicated and the services that consolidated and simplified the datafeeds from several vendors were too pricey.

I had been playing around with the free phpBay Lite plugin in on another site I had setup and pretty much ignored. In a matter of seconds you can add a post to pull ebay listings on a specific keyword. Yes, seconds! I was busy working on my labour intensive site adding non-ebay affiliate links when I decided to login to my ebay account – just for the hell of it. So imaginge my surprise when I found out that I had actually made some sales! How? What? I don’t even know how buyers found my site, but sure enough – three sales. Not many I will admit, but for a site that I wasn’t trying to drive traffic to it was a VERY pleasant surprise! And all from one simple line of code. All I had to do was click on a button, add my keywords and the number of items I wanted to list and presto – a page of ebay listings for that product.

Well, if no work and a free plugin could generate three sales in a couple of weeks, what could the phpBay Pro version – with many more options – and actual article marketing and backlinking generate? I decided to find out. So yesterday I purchased phpBay Pro and installed it on my newly rediscovered site. Simple to use and a lot of great features including the ability to list products in columns, choose your country and even sort the products using various options.

I then discovered the phpOStock plugin which will pull products from Overstock.com – a site I had been manually adding affiliate links from. For $30 – which also includes 12 free Wordpress Commerce templates – I thought it was a great deal. So today I have also added this to my arsenal of affiliate tools.

So I am off to play with my new toys – I mean plugins. Let the fun begin!
